The Najla and Abdo Nasser Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Saint George Hospital in Beirut
In honor of his parents Najla and Abdo Nasser, Mr. Jacques Nasser has recently donated $250,000 to the American Foundation for Saint George Hospital to equip the pediatric intensive care unit of the Children’s Hospital at Saint George University Medical Center in Beirut, Lebanon. A giant in the world of business, technology and industry, Mr. Nasser was born in Amyoun, Lebanon, and was raised in Australia. He is past CEO of Ford Motor Company. During his tenure with Ford, he consolidated the automotive industry, augmenting the company’s portfolio with the multi-billion purchase of Volvo, Range Rover, and Mazda. After leaving Ford in 2001, Mr. Nasser became a senior partner at One Equity Partners, a subsidiary of Bank One. Because of his significant contributions to humanity, industry and technology, he was decorated by the governments of Lebanon and Australia. He also received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor. In appreciation of his service to St. George Hospital and the people of Lebanon, the American Foundation for St. George Hospital recently honored Mr. Nasser at the prestigious Cosmos Club in Washington, D.C. The mission of the Children’s Hospital at St. George is to provide comprehensive, specialized health services that enhance physical and mental health and well being of children in Lebanon and the region. Recent Events
Spring 2011 A team from Saint George Hospital visited the US to increase awareness about the hospital. The team consisting of Dr. Imad Hajj, medical director at Saint George Hospital, Ms. Janelle Hraiki, fundraising consultant and Dr. Steven Chalouhi, resident, conducted meetings and attended two receptions for the Foundation:
1. On April 27, 2011, the team and executive director Lama Najjar attended a reception hosted by founding Board member Brenda Farha and her husband
Dr. George Farha, at the Orthodox Chancery of the Diocese of Wichita and Mid-America in Wichita, Kansas. Bishop Basil was in attendance along with 40 people -- Kansas 2011 Pictures.
2. On May 4, 2011 the team from Saint George Hospital attended a reception hosted by Board member Sameer Eid and his wife Leyla at their home in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. About 30 couples were in attendance -- Michigan 2011 Pictures.

December 2010 Fundraising Dinner The Foundation's 6th annual Christmas fundraising dinner, to benefit Saint George Children's Hospital in Beirut, took place at the residence of Bob and Labibe Basil in Potomac, MD on Saturday December 4, 2010, 7:00-10:00 PM. Around 150 attendees enjoyed live piano music by James Brostrom, Christmas Carols by the Yorktown Madrigals and an art exhibit by renowned artist Helen Zughaib -- December 2010 Dinner Pictures.
December 2009 Fundraising Dinner Our fifth annual fundraiser to benefit Saint George Children’s Hospital was held at the residence of Board member Richard Seikaly in Potomac, Maryland on December 21, 2009. Despite the record snow, it was attended by 100 people. The evening featured live singing by Lena Seikaly and a silent auction -- December 2009 Dinner Pictures.
December 2008 Fundraising Dinner
Our fourth annual fundraising dinner to benefit Saint George Children’s hospital was held at the residence of Habib and Hind Debs in McLean, Virginia in December 2008. It was attended by 150 people. The evening featured Christmas carols by the Yorktown Madrigals, live music and watercolors from Lebanon, Syria and Palestine by renowned artist George Kosinski -- December 2008 Fundraising Dinner Pictures.
May 2008 Dinner in Honor of Jacques Nasser
A dinner in honor of Mr. Jacques Nasser was held at the Cosmos Club in Washington, DC in May 2008. December 2007 Fundraising Dinner
Our third fundraiser to benefit Saint George Hospital was held at the residence of Joe and Elham Cicippio in Washington, DC in December 2007. The dinner was attended by 150 people featuring guest of honor Ambassador of Lebanon H.E. Antoine Chedid. Mrs. Randa Chammas was presented with a plaque in memory of her late husband Mr. Edmond Chammas, former Board Member and great supporter of the Foundation. Our second fundraiser to benefit Saint George Children’s Hospital was held at the residence of Imad and Tania Mufarrij in Potomac, MD in December 2006. The dinner was attended by 100 people. The evening featured live music by the Fervesco String Quartet and a silent auction.

Our first annual fundraiser to benefit Saint George Children’s Hospital was held at the residence of Joe and Elham Cicippio in Washington, DC in December 2005. The dinner was attended by 75 people along with Mezzo Soprano Dina Martire and live piano music.
